Pink Coyote Design Studio approaches architecture and interiors through a deeply personal lens, where each space is shaped by the people who inhabit it. Working across residential, commercial, and furniture design, the studio maintains a consistent intent, to create environments that are both functional and emotionally resonant. Each project is treated as a distinct response, guided by the idea that spaces should not only perform efficiently but also reflect individual character and lived experience.
Founded by Shivani Joshi in Ahmedabad in 2018, the studio brings together clear architectural thinking with a layered, personal design language. Its work spans homes and workplaces, often integrating custom furniture as part of the overall spatial narrative. Across projects, Pink Coyote maintains a consistent approach, ensuring that each space reflects the individuality of its users. As Shivani notes, “Self-reflection is a very personal journey,” a perspective that guides how the studio engages with its clients.
This thinking carries through into the way spaces are designed to support everyday life, from work and relaxation to hosting and interaction. Over time, the studio has gained recognition for its context-driven approach, aligning design decisions closely with the specific needs and behaviours of its users. Its work has been acknowledged with the India Design Award 2022, along with recognition from Vogue India for a design language that balances sophistication with accessibility.
The studio’s name reflects the foundation of its design philosophy. Shivani explains that “pink represents passion and freedom, and ‘coyote’ in a spiritual way signifies change and inner contemplation.” This duality informs the studio’s approach, balancing expression with introspection.
Each project begins with a close understanding of the client’s daily routines, preferences, and expectations, allowing spaces to be shaped around lived experience. The intention is to create environments that are not only visually considered, but also support comfort, functionality, and a sense of personal connection. Pink Coyote’s approach is grounded in a careful reading of each site. Shivani describes design as a process of listening before intervening, “I hear how the site reacts; I hear how the site speaks.”
